Memorandum für Forschungen zu Spätantike und Frühmittelalter im Kosovo unterzeichnet

„Shedding New Light on the Dark Ages in Kosovo“ – das ist das Ziel eines Anfang 2024 unterzeichneten Memorandum of Understanding zwischen der Römisch-Germanischen Kommission des Deutschen Archäologischen Instituts und Dr. Pleurat Kabashi, Universität Pristina (Kosovo). Ein gemeinsames Projekt, an dem Dr. Pleurat Kabashi (Universität Pristina), Merita Beqiraj (Universität Tübingen & DAI/RGK), PD Dr. Lukas Werther (DAI/RGK) und weitere Forscher*innen beteiligt sind, soll in den kommenden Jahren ausgehend von der Befestigung von Korisha und ihrem Hinterland den Übergang von der Spätantike in das Frühmittelalter untersuchen und den wissenschaftlichen Austausch zwischen Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftlern der beiden Länder fördern. Die RGK freut sich auf diese neue Aufgabe!

Memorandum signed for research on Late Antiquity and the Early Middle Ages in Kosovo   

"Shedding New Light on the Dark Ages in Kosovo" - this is the aim of a memorandum of understanding signed at the beginning of 2024 between the Romano-Germanic Commission of the German Archaeological Institute and Dr Pleurat Kabashi, University of Pristina (Kosovo). In the coming years, a joint project involving Dr Pleurat Kabashi (University of Pristina), Merita Beqiraj (University of Tübingen & DAI/RGK). PD Dr Lukas Werther (DAI/RGK) and other researchers will investigate the transition from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages based on the fortification of Korisha and its hinterland and promote scientific exchange between researchers from the two countries. The RGK is looking forward to this new task!
