Our Series &

Monographs

Our Monographs and Series

From the very beginning, our main task has been to research the monuments of the past and to publish them in the best possible quality. With around 90 series published under the DAI's editorship to date, most of which are still active, the Institute provides one of the largest platforms for modern archaeological research from around the world.
The main purpose of our publications is to publish the scientific results of research projects carried out by the DAI or related to DAI projects. In addition to the series that publish the results of excavation and fieldwork projects, other series are devoted to specific genres or thematically outlined subject areas, covering research questions from the entire field of Classical Studies and related disciplines.
Detailed information about each series can be found at iDAI.publications/books

Publishing in a DAI series

Unlike our journals, our series publications focus primarily on the scientific results of research projects carried out by, or related to, the DAI projects. Manuscripts should therefore not be submitted without prior consultation with the editors. Further information can be found on each series page.

Purchasing DAI series and monographs

Our publications can only be purchased through bookshops and not directly from us, so please do not send orders to the DAI. Please also check which publisher actually published the book before ordering, as the series are often published by more than one publisher. All details and publisher contacts can be found on the series page.
