Exhibitions DAI Athens

Knowledge for all: Through museums and online platforms, we share valuable insights into our excavations, projects, and the rich history of Greece and beyond.

Our exhibitions

We are committed to sharing the results of our research with an engaged public. For years we have regularly designed presentations with this aim – either as permanent exhibitions at excavation sites or as special exhibitions on specific topics. With our new online format, we can now make this knowledge accessible to a global audience.

Shapes of Ancient Greece: "Picked up - Preserved - Refurbished"

As our BMBF-funded project "Shapes of Ancient Greece: Digitising the Archaeological Collection of the DAI Athens" draws to a close, we are excited to offer insights into the archaeological collection of the DAI Athens and to present the newly developed digital research tools. Using initial case studies, we showcase future research possibilities. Beyond recontextualizing the provenance of the objects, these antiquities also provide valuable insights into the topography and settlement history of ancient Greece.
