Überblick

In conjunction with the research project Silk Road Fashion, the project Eastern Fashion—Dress and Cloth Making Tradition in China from Shang to Tang focuses on the fashion popularized in the Central Plain area of China during the period from the 17th century BC to the 10th century AD. Based on archaeological finds and pictorial images of fabrics and dresses, the details of ancient fashion, the presentation of dress code, the interaction between human and environment via dress making and the fashion communication between the east and west can be reconstructed.
