The El-Hibe Coffins Project, an interdisciplinary project between Conservation Science and Egyptology, recently held a workshop delving into the fascinating discoveries surrounding nine coffins from el-Hibe. It centered around the results of the project’s analysis of the Late Period coffins, probing the artefacts’ potential and challenges to be on future display in an exhibition.

The intensive program trained participants in exhibition planning, design, preventive conservation, and Late Period coffin decoration. Equipped with their previous experience in exhibitions, the participants engaged in lively discussions, generating innovative ideas for showcasing the el-Hibe coffins to the public.

On January 28th, the workshop culminated in the presentation of these creative proposals, showcasing unique approaches to displaying the coffins' historical significance. Following these impressive presentations, Prof Dr Dietrich Raue, Director of the DAIK, awarded certificates to the participants, recognizing their contributions to this exciting project.
