An exhibition of the DAI Cairo archives
Ahmed Fakhry (1905 - 1973) was one of the most important Egyptian archaeologists and Egyptologists of the 20th century. His legacy reflects not only his scientific work but also his great interest in contemporary Egypt, its inhabitants and their local customs and traditions. The exhibition of archive material traces key stations in his life and reflects Egypt through the eyes (and camera, notes and sketches) of Ahmed Fakhry.
