New interactive online platform presented in Luxor

From now on a new digital tool can be used by the restauration and conservation projects in the temples and tombs in Luxor. At the international conference in the Mummification Museum in Luxor on February 11th, 2016, the German conservators, Christina Verbeek and Susanne Brinkmann, presented the interactive online platform "CTT" ( Conservation of Theban Temples and Tombs). The event was supported by the Ministry of Antiquities, the Gerda Henkel Foundation (Duesseldorf), and the German Archaeological Institute Cairo.

Scholars from all over the world are invited to participate in this new platform and can share their research results and technological methods. "The digital platform CTT will take the restauration and conservation of tombs to a completely new level. It will certainly enhance the quality of projects regarding Egypt's cultural heritage.", said Professor Dr. Hans-Joachim Gehrke, Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Gerda Henkel Foundation and former President of the German Archaeological Institute in his welcoming speech.
