TELL Lecture by Zeinab Hashesh: The Mummy of the Fake King Wah-ib-Ra
We are cordially inviting to a lecture in course of the young researchers' lecture series "Tell!" at the German Archaeological Institute Cairo, January 19th, 2016 beginning at 6:15pm:
Zeinab Hashesh: The Mummy of the Fake King Wah-ib-Ra
During the excavation in winter 2014 at Tell Tebilla (Dakahlia governorate, 12 km north of Mendes) an Egyptian team of archaeologists under the supervision of Mr. Salem El-Boghdady has discovered a mud brick mastaba dating to the 26th dynasty. Therein three mummies have been discovered in situ. One of them was identified as king Wah-ib-Ra according to the name which was written in a cartouche in two different positions on the cartonnage. In contrast to this philological evidence, the osteological analysis offers other results. In this lecture the new osteological results are going to be presented and discussed.
