Archaeological Collections of the Foreign Schools in Athens. Potentials for Modern Landscape Studies
In the second part of the 19th century, the early years of the existence of the Foreign Archaeological Schools in Athens, topographical research was common throughout Greek Archaeology. Some of the archaeologists and historians while walking through the Greek landscapes collected sherds. Only rather recently, the importance of this material for modern landscape studies has been brought in the focus of research. For the first time, there will be a workshop on this material with participants from the Foreign Schools and the Greek Ministry of Culture, which will discuss possible re-contextualisation in modern landscape studies and future collaborations.
