As part of the research work of the DAI's Damascus Branch and Research Unit in Amman, extensive image and text material on numerous cultural sites in Syria and Jordan has been processed and made accessible in archives. The archives currently include a photo library at the Institute in Damascus, whose image holdings are included in the material of the Syrian Heritage Archive Project (SHAP), the Resafa Archive (digital archive under construction: images, plans, documentation and correspondence), the so-called Meinecke Archive (digital archive under construction: images, plans, documentation and correspondence) and the project archive of the DAI's research projects in and around Gadara/ Umm Qays (Gadara Archive).
